Guido Motorsports, a Family Affair
Racing for the better part of 20 years, we have always had some of the best and most exciting cars in our shop that you could ever imagine. While the kids were young, they watched while we prepared cars for weekend racing, and it wasn't long before they began to show their interest.
They began to feel the excitement of the sport and see the opportunities available to them if they wanted to race. For me, the payoff is having something we do together that keeps us connected.
All four of the Guido children have risen to the winner's circle at one time or another. By all indications, there will be no slowing down any time soon.
Once it became clear that Nicole, now 16, and Alexandra, 15, were serious about drag racing, we started Guido Motorsports in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. The girls each have their own unique personality and style. It's incredibly exciting to watch, as they both have become extremely competitive drag racers.
Thus far, Nicole and Alexandra have been racing in the Jr Dragster Class, powered with alcohol-fueled ZR-4 engines. Their dragsters cover the eighth-mile in 7.90 seconds at close to 85 mph.
The Guido Motorsports Team has collected over 100 wins.
Our most exciting successes have been:
- Winning the 2009 National Eastern Conference Finals, in Bristol, TN
- Winning the 2008 National Mike Bos Index race Bristol, TN
- Runner Up in 2008 National Mike Bos Bracket race Bristol TN (going 16 consecutive winning rounds)
- 2007 Final 4 Division 1
- 2006 Numidia Dragway Track Champions
While racing 8 national events, the wins could not have been made without Crew Chief Keith Albinson of Sussex, NJ, Bill Lamond, engine builder of PA and Fred Craw, engine builder from NJ.
